As Founder and Principal of Lumenworks, Thomas Skradski brings more than 33 years of professional experience and expertise in architectural and interior design to his practice. With hundreds of lighting projects to his credit, his experienced leadership and personal involvement assure the highest level of design and quality of work.
Thomas’ innovative approach to conceptualizing and developing the overall design of a project as well as his attention to the details of architecture and landscape are combined with an expertise in energy conservation and lighting retrofit consulting. His widely published designs have been recognized nationally and internationally receiving numerous design awards.
With 10 years of experience in both Mechanical and General Contracting, he founded Thomas J. Skradski Interior Design, Inc., in 1979 in the Midwest. He soon merged his firm with Lumen Tec Lighting Design, Inc. in 1980. Upon relocation to the Bay Area, Thomas founded Lumenworks Lighting Design in 1993.
Thomas has numerous national & international awards to his credit designing lighting systems for corporate offices, stadiums, retail stores, commercial facilities, restaurants, interior residences, and landscapes. In addition, he has been a contributing author of Advanced Lighting Technologies Application Guidelines for the California Energy Commission and Visual Merchandising & Store Design. Thomas has also served as a technical and design advisor for many lighting product manufacturers throughout his career. He has been active as an instructor at the colleges of The Academy of Art and West Valley. He continues to teach lighting design and energy conservation seminars at the PG&E Energy Center, American Managers Association and The American Institute of Architects in the Bay Area.
